Argentine winger Alejandro Garnacho has revealed why he decided to make the switch to Chelsea, saying the club’s playing style and the vision of manager Enzo Maresca played key roles in his decision.

Speaking in a quote shared by football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on Tuesday, Garnacho explained that his conversation with Maresca convinced him Chelsea was the right fit.

“When I spoke with the club and Maresca, the style of play was very important to me. He explained a lot during our video call,” Garnacho said.
“It’s a big opportunity to improve as a player in a team like Chelsea.”

The young forward joined the London side in a £40 million deal from Manchester United, signing a seven-year contract with the reigning world champions.

Garnacho’s transfer is part of Chelsea’s ongoing effort to bolster their squad for both domestic and European competitions.

The 21-year-old has already begun to make an impression, scoring his first goal for the Blues in their narrow 2–1 defeat to newly promoted Sunderland on Saturday.
