The National Youth Service Corps has commenced the physical verification of credentials and travel documents for foreign-trained Nigerian graduates registered for the 2025 Batch ‘C’ Service Year.

According to a statement issued by NYSC Management and shared on the Corps’ X account Sunday night, the verification exercise will run from Monday, November 10 to Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at designated centres across the country.

The exercise is targeted at Prospective Corps Members whose documents have not yet undergone in-person verification despite completing online registration.

The NYSC listed the verification locations as:
– NYSC Secretariat, 2 Abakaliki Road, GRA, Enugu
– Shadawanka Military Barracks, Bauchi
– NYSC Orientation Camp, Kubwa, Abuja
– Bukavu Military Barracks, Fagge, Airport Road, Kano
– NYSC Orientation Camp, Iyana Ipaja, Lagos
– NYSC Secretariat, New Ikirun Road, Osogbo
– NYSC Secretariat, 40 Ikwerre Road, Port Harcourt
– Eagle Officers Mess, Gingiya Military Barracks, Sokoto
– NYSC Secretariat, Federal Secretariat Complex, Yola

The statement noted, “As part of the measures to ensure orderliness and avoid overcrowding, Prospective Corps Members are expected to strictly report on the date, time, and venue specified on the verification slip.”

Participants must present the original versions of all credentials and travel documents previously uploaded online. The Corps also directed that medical graduates upload their professional Licenses, Registration Certificates, and other relevant documentation, and bring the originals to the verification venues.

For graduates whose academic qualifications require formal recognition, the NYSC stated, “Original copies of Evaluation letters issued by Federal Ministry of Education (where applicable) should be submitted at the NYSC Headquarters, Abuja and acknowledged copies uploaded online by the PCMs.”

Emphasising the mandatory nature of the exercise, the management warned that “only persons physically seen with credentials, physically verified and cleared would be deployed, exempted, or excluded from National Service.”

The agency urged all affected foreign-trained graduates to adhere strictly to their assigned schedules.

The verification kickoff comes days after the NYSC extended the 2025 Batch ‘C’ online registration by 48 hours due to network interruptions. The extension is expected to end at midnight on Tuesday, November 11.

This development also comes amid repeated reports over the years about foreign degree mills and unaccredited institutions used by some individuals to procure fake academic certificates.
