At the National Convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held in Abuja on Friday, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda and Ajibola Basiru were re-elected as the party’s National Chairman and National Secretary, respectively.

The convention, which doubled as the party’s fourth elective gathering, saw members of the National Working Committee (NWC) returned through a consensus arrangement and affirmed by a voice vote.

Following their confirmation, the newly elected NWC members were immediately sworn in and are expected to oversee the party’s affairs for the next four years.

Other key officials in the committee include Deputy National Chairman (North), Ali Dalori; Deputy National Chairman (South), Emma Eneukwu; National Financial Secretary, Bashir Gumel; and National Legal Adviser, Murtala Kankia, among others.

In his acceptance speech, Yilwatda expressed confidence in the new leadership’s ability to reposition the party, pledging to work towards rebuilding Nigeria in alignment with the vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He emphasized the party’s commitment to strengthening internal democracy, promoting transparency, and fostering unity across its structures.

“Our mission is clear,” he said. “Together, we will build a stronger, more inclusive and disciplined party. We will ensure every member has a voice, expand our reach to all communities, and empower young people who remain a vital part of our present and future.”
