The Lagos State Government has announced the return of its monthly environmental sanitation exercise, scheduled to resume on Saturday, April 25, 2026.
The Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, disclosed that the exercise will now hold on the last Saturday of every month, between 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.
This development follows the official relaunch of the initiative at Idi-Oro in Mushin Local Government Area.
Wahab called on residents to take part actively by cleaning their surroundings, clearing drainage systems, and disposing of waste responsibly, stressing that such efforts are part of citizens’ civic obligations.
He further noted that maintaining a clean environment is a collective responsibility essential for ensuring a healthier and flood-resistant Lagos, adding that authorities would strictly enforce compliance.
