The Olojudu Alayemore of Ido-Osun, Oba Olayinka Ishola Jokotola, has called on Christians and Muslim faithful to remain steadfast in faith and continue to live in unity for the progress of their communities.

‎The monarch made the call on Tuesday during a Ramadan lecture held in Ido-Osun, Osun State, where he also officially unveiled the flag of Alayemore Kingdom.

‎Speaking at the event, Oba Jokotola stressed that as a traditional ruler, he belongs to all religions practiced within his domain and must ensure unity among his people.

‎“As a monarch, whether Christian or Muslim, as a traditional ruler and leader of the community, all the religions are mine,”Oba jokotola said. “When it is time for our Lord Jesus Christ to worship Almighty God, we will do the same, and as a king, I must always carry my people along.”

‎The monarch advised adherents of both religions to maintain strong faith in God, noting that faith remains the foundation for prosperity and success in life.

‎“My advice for Muslims and Christians is to have faith in God. With faith, everything you lay your hands upon will prosper. That is what both the Holy Qur’an and the Bible teach us,” he said.

‎During the ceremony, the monarch also explained the symbolism embedded in the newly unveiled Alayemore Kingdom flag, describing it as a representation of the history, unity and heritage of the people.

‎According to him, the colours and symbols on the flag reflect the identity and values of the kingdom.

‎“The gold on the flag stands for royalty, the white represents peace, while the green symbolises the wealth of our community,” he explained. “You will also see the fish and prawn there, which represent our aquatic heritage and the natural blessings of this town.”

‎Addressing sons and daughters of Alayemore Kingdom and other dignitaries present, the royal father described the flag as a powerful symbol of the kingdom’s tradition, sovereignty and collective destiny.

‎“This flag is not an ordinary cloth. It is our history woven in colour, our sovereignty displayed with honour and our unity proclaimed without fear,” he declared.

‎“The green declares the richness of our land, fertile, blessed and abundant, while the gold shines with royal dignity, reflecting the sacred crown and the honour of our tradition.”

‎He further noted that the white colour on the flag represents peace built on justice, unity and mutual respect among the people of the kingdom.

‎“At its heart stands the royal crest which symbolises sacred authority. The crown affirms sovereignty and power, while the fish and palm testify to the abundance, resilience and industrious strength of our people,” the monarch added.

‎Oba Jokotola expressed optimism that the flag would serve as a lasting symbol of unity and pride for the people of Alayemore Kingdom.

‎“Let this flag remind every son and daughter of Alayemore that we are a people of honour, courage, culture and royal pride. As it flies, may it command respect; as it waves, may it inspire unity; and as it stands, may Alayemore stand strong, prosperous and everlasting,” he said.
