Nollywood actor and filmmaker Kunle Afod has openly criticised Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, over what he described as the deplorable condition of basic infrastructure in Ose Local Government Area.

Afod, who said he had been drawing the government’s attention to the situation for weeks, expressed frustration on Monday, accusing authorities of neglecting the needs of residents.

In a video shared online, the actor highlighted the poor state of schools, roads, and healthcare facilities in the area, particularly in Idoani. He lamented that some communities have been without electricity for decades, noting that Idoani has reportedly been in darkness for about eight years.

Calling on the governor and local government officials to act, Afod pointed to abandoned school buildings and a growing education crisis, claiming that many teachers had left due to the poor conditions while children were no longer attending school.

He also raised concerns over the lack of accessible roads, which he said has further isolated communities within the local government.

“The health system is in a terrible state,” Afod said, alleging that general hospitals in the area have been shut down, leaving residents without proper medical care. He added that the absence of commercial banks has compounded the hardship faced by locals.

The actor urged the governor to collaborate with elected representatives at all levels including lawmakers in the National Assembly and State House of Assembly to address the challenges facing Ose Local Government.

He questioned how long residents would continue to endure the situation, calling for urgent intervention to improve living conditions in the area.
