The Ekiti State Commissioner for Youth Development, Adesola Adedayo, has thrown his weight behind Governor Biodun Oyebanji, describing his continuity agenda as the most viable path to sustained development in the state.

Speaking in Ado Ekiti while hosting youth groups, Adedayo said extending Oyebanji’s administration would consolidate ongoing progress in infrastructure, economic growth, security, and youth empowerment.

According to him, the governor has demonstrated strong leadership through inclusive governance, strategic partnerships, and prudent management of state resources, all of which have contributed to noticeable improvements across key sectors.

He warned against what he described as a “trial-and-error” approach to leadership, cautioning that handing over power to inexperienced politicians could derail the state’s development trajectory. Adedayo argued that many opposition figures lack the experience and clear policy direction needed to move Ekiti forward.

“Ekiti cannot afford to gamble with its future when it already has a leader building on solid foundations laid by previous administrations,” he said.

The commissioner praised the administration’s emphasis on peaceful politics and unity, noting that these have helped create a stable environment for growth. He added that recent infrastructural projects, improved road networks, and agricultural initiatives have boosted employment and enhanced the state’s economy.

Adedayo also highlighted gains in revenue generation, revealing that the state’s internally generated revenue has significantly increased, supported by reforms such as the digitalisation of tax systems.

He listed key achievements of the Oyebanji administration to include job creation across formal and informal sectors, youth-focused digital training programmes, and major infrastructure projects aimed at improving connectivity and investment opportunities.

Urging residents to disregard criticism from opposition parties, the commissioner maintained that the continuity agenda is not about politics but about securing long-term prosperity for Ekiti State.

He concluded by calling on the electorate to support Governor Oyebanji’s vision, insisting that sustained leadership remains crucial to maintaining the current pace of development.
