The Ilobu National Students’ Union (INSU) National Headquarters on Saturday held the Ilobu Head Prefects’ Conference as part of activities marking the first 100 days of Aisha Balogun-led leadership in office.

The event, which was held at the Union Secretariat in Ilobu, Osun State, brought together student leaders, stakeholders and expert speakers to engage in meaningful discussions aimed at shaping the future of young leaders.

In her welcome address, the President of the union, Aisha Balogun, who happens to be the first female president of the union, reflected on the journey of the administration within its first 100 days.

She highlighted both the challenges encountered and the notable achievements recorded so far.

According to her, the union has successfully implemented several impactful programs like Sensitization Program on Drug and Child Abuse, CBT training, Career Compass, and Social Media Sensitization.

Balogun added that her administration is already working on additional initiatives to further advance students’ welfare and leadership development.

Delivering her keynote address, Engr Mrs Omolara Abisola Odeyemi emphasized the importance of confidence, intelligence, and healthy living for students aspiring to achieve greatness.

She encouraged participants to remain focused, develop self-belief, and adopt lifestyles that promote both mental and physical well-being as they pursue their ambitions.

Odeyemi further advised student executives to set aside personal emotions and differences, urging them to unite in support of the union’s leadership. She called on them to work collectively with the president to ensure the success of the administration and the progress of the student body.

Also speaking at the conference, Dr Mrs Ishola Modupe Olanrewaju charged students to cultivate responsibility, competence, and integrity in their leadership journey. She stated the need for building meaningful relationships, noting that collaboration, positive used of modern technology and networking are essential for long-term success.

The Ilobu Head Prefects’ Conference forms part of INSU’s broader vision to nurture responsible and forward-thinking student leaders, reinforcing its commitment to making a lasting impact within the community.
