President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday officially unveiled the new corporate headquarters of the Nigeria Revenue Service in Abuja, marking a key step in the restructuring of the country’s tax administration system.
The commissioning ceremony also signaled the transition from the former Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) to the newly rebranded Nigeria Revenue Service.
In a video shared by his Special Assistant on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, the President praised the agency’s performance and declared the facility open, describing it as a symbol of integrity and institutional strength.
During the event, Tinubu was joined by top government officials, including the Chairman of the NRS, Zacch Adedeji, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
The President performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony and proceeded to read the commemorative plaque, noting that the building represents a lasting commitment to transparency and accountability in revenue generation.
According to Olusegun, the newly completed structure features 16 floors across three towers and is designed to accommodate about 3,000 staff members.
The development is part of the administration’s broader effort to modernise Nigeria’s tax system and improve efficiency in revenue collection.
