Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has formally introduced Senator Aliyu Wadada to President Bola Tinubu as his preferred successor for the state’s governorship seat.
The presentation took place on Friday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where Wadada was unveiled as the consensus candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa.
Sule had earlier announced Wadada as his choice during a meeting with political appointees at the Government House, explaining that the decision followed an extensive consultation process.
According to the governor, the search for a suitable successor lasted over a year and involved engagements with a wide range of stakeholders, both within and outside the state.
He said the consultations included discussions with investors, youth and women groups, traditional rulers, party leaders, and representatives from the three senatorial districts, as well as members of his cabinet.
Sule noted that the outcome reflects a collective decision aimed at ensuring continuity and stability in the state’s leadership.
