…As Lawmakers Say Adeleke’s Second Term Is A Done Deal
Stakeholders, members and leaders of the Accord Party in Osun West Senatorial District have affirmed the consensus candidature of the Senate Deputy Minority Leader, Lere Oyewumi for reelection in the 2027 general election.
They also unanimously ratified the candidature of serving House of Representatives member representing Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan federal constituency, Olanrewaju Oladebo to seek a second term in office.
The results of the primary elections were announced by the Chairmen of the electoral committees for the senatorial and federal constituency primary elections, Bolaji Opaoye and Engr. Isa Ojewale.
The two-in-one event was attended by security operatives including the Police, DSS, NSCDC, officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the media, among others.
Accepting their nominations, Senator Oyewumi and Hon. Oladebo expressed appreciation to party members and stakeholders for their continuous dedication, support and commitment to the success of the primaries.
Oyewumi added that the successful conduct of the party’s primaries is a reflection of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s performance, which he said will materialise in the votes the party will record in the August 15, 2026 governorship election.
His words, “The successful conduct of today’s primaries is historic. It speaks to how much both members of our party and the people of our respective constituencies believe in the government of Ademola Adeleke and the Accord Party.
“It is clear to everyone that we have delivered across all sectors and that will further reflect in the massive votes our people will use to return our Governor on August 15. We are ready and by the grace of God, we will win.”
Corroborating him, Oladebo thanked the party members for their support, assuring that he will not let them down.
“We are indeed grateful to our people. Their overwhelming support and massive endorsement speaks to how well we have impacted them.
“We will not drop the ball. We will continue to work for them. I urge the people of Osun not to relent in their support for us and Mr. Governor so that the good work can continue,” Oladebo reiterated.
The event was attended by members of the green chamber- Bamidele Salam (Ede/Egbedore/Ejigbo), Lukman Musashir (Iwo/Ayedire/Olaoluwa) who also emerged unopposed in their constituencies alongside party leaders, chieftains and functionaries of the state government.
