Award-winning Afrobeats singer, Davido, has revealed plans to return to school for a master’s degree in Political Science at a university in the United Kingdom next year.
The music star, whose real name is David Adeleke, made the disclosure during a recent livestream that gained attention online on Wednesday.
Speaking about his academic ambitions beyond music and entertainment, Davido said he intends to pursue a one-year postgraduate programme in Political Science in the UK.
“I want to do my Master’s next year in the UK, a one-year course in political science. I already have my B.Sc,” he said during the session.
The singer also clarified that he would not be studying at Adeleke University, despite assumptions from some fans due to his family’s strong connection to the institution.
When asked whether the programme would take place at Adeleke University, Davido simply responded, “No.”
The announcement has since generated reactions on social media, with many fans praising the singer for prioritising education while maintaining his successful music career.
Davido has often shown interest in governance and political matters, especially during election periods in Nigeria, where he has publicly supported political campaigns and engaged in national conversations.
