The Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday granted bail to former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, in the sum of N100 million.
Justice Joyce Abdulmalik, who delivered the ruling, said the former governor must provide one surety with the same bail amount.
The court also set strict conditions for the surety, stating that the person must be a resident of either Maitama or Asokoro districts in Abuja.
In addition, the surety is required to submit the original Certificate of Occupancy of a landed property to the court registry as part of the bail terms.
Justice Abdulmalik further ruled that the surety must be a federal civil servant not below Grade Level 17. The individual must also provide proof of salary payments for at least three months.
The court added that the salary documents must be verified through a letter from the surety’s bank manager within the court’s jurisdiction.
