In an era where many politicians move from one political party to another in desperate pursuit of tickets, relevance, and personal ambition, loyalty has gradually become a scarce virtue in Nigerian politics.

For many political actors, ideology no longer matters. Principles are often sacrificed on the altar of personal interest, while party structures are abandoned immediately ambition suffers temporary setbacks. The culture of “jumping ship” has now become a recurring decimal in the nation’s democratic experience.

But for Dr. Sesan Sanusi, the story appears different. Despite falling short twice in his bid to secure the ticket for the Olorunda State Constituency seat in 2019 and 2023, Dr. Sanusi remained steadfast within the fold of the All Progressives Congress (APC), refusing to abandon the progressive family for political convenience.

His decision to stay committed, even in moments of disappointment, reflects a rare level of political maturity, discipline, and ideological consistency that many younger politicians can learn from.

Over the years, Tinubu’s political movement has consistently emphasized loyalty, long-term structure building, and commitment to progressive ideology over momentary political gains. This is the time for reward for loyalty within the All Progressive Congress (APC) by considering a man of loyal track record.

Dr. Sesan Sanusi’s political conduct mirrors that tradition. He is not only loyal, he is also committed to the welfare of party members across the state capital especially the Olorunda local government.

Rather than turning against the party or seeking shortcuts elsewhere after failing to secure the ticket, he chose to remain loyal to the APC, continue engaging with the grassroots, and sustain his relationship with party faithful across Olorunda.

Such consistency sends a powerful message that politics should not merely be about personal victories, but about sustaining institutions, preserving ideological identity, and contributing to long-term democratic stability.

Beyond political calculations, loyalty remains one of the strongest currencies in leadership. A man who stands with a structure during difficult moments often earns greater respect than those who only identify with success. Dr Sanusi deserves to be rewarded for the Ọlọrunda state constituency’s party ticket ahead of the Osun State House of Assembly 2027 election.
