The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi has announced the birth of twin princes with his wife, Olori Mariam Ajibola, marking a joyful moment for the royal household of Oduduwa.
The monarch shared the news on Friday through his official social media page, where he expressed gratitude to God for the safe delivery of the babies. According to him, both the mother and the newborn princes are in good health.
In his statement, the Ooni described the birth as a blessing to the royal family and congratulated the entire House of Oduduwa on the arrival of the twins. He said the family was thankful for what he called God’s abundant grace and mercy.
The announcement has drawn warm reactions from well-wishers and admirers of the royal family, many of whom have taken to social media to celebrate with the palace.
The Ooni, who was formerly married to Olori Naomi, entered into multiple marriages in 2022. Olori Mariam is among the queens he married during that period.
The traditional ruler had earlier explained that some of his marital decisions were tied to the customs and heritage associated with the ancient throne of Ile-Ife.
