The Osun State Chapter of All Progressives Congress has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his 66th birthday, while using the occasion to renew criticism of his administration and demand explanations over the management of public funds.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by the party’s Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, the opposition party said it joined family members, political associates and supporters of the governor in celebrating his new age.

The party, however, used the birthday message to launch a strong attack on Adeleke’s administration, alleging that the governor has failed to deliver effective governance since assuming office in November 2022.

According to the APC, Adeleke should use the occasion of his birthday to give account of what it described as over N1 trillion in federal allocations received by the state under his administration. The party accused the governor of mismanaging public resources and spending state funds on what it termed non-essential activities.

The statement also alleged that the administration had not delivered meaningful development across the state and criticised the governor’s priorities, claiming they had not translated into visible improvements for residents.

The opposition party further said Adeleke should prepare to answer questions regarding the management of state resources after leaving office, alleging that anti-graft agencies may investigate his administration once his constitutional immunity expires.

The APC also expressed confidence that its governorship candidate, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, would defeat Adeleke in the August 15, 2026 governorship election.

Despite the criticism, the party ended the statement by wishing the governor good health and many more years, while maintaining its stance that his administration should be held accountable for its stewardship in the state.
