Former Super Eagles midfielder Osaze Odemwingie has cautioned compatriot Victor Osimhen against a potential move to Manchester United, warning that the intense pressure on strikers at Old Trafford could hinder his progress.

Speaking ahead of the summer transfer window, Odemwingie said the expectations at the club are often overwhelming for forwards, making it a risky destination.

“The pressure on strikers there is huge. You have to stay away from that. We’ve seen it happen with Romelu Lukaku and several others. Because of the club’s size and the demand for results, there’s always someone to blame when things go wrong,” he said during an interview with Brila FM.

Odemwingie, who previously featured for clubs like Stoke City, Cardiff City, and West Bromwich Albion, suggested that Osimhen would be better suited to clubs with more stable systems and less intense scrutiny.

He named Arsenal, Barcelona, and Real Madrid as ideal destinations for the striker.

“Arsenal and Barcelona are mature clubs that could suit him well. Real Madrid is also a great option. Their style of play and structure would bring out the best in him,” he added.

Odemwingie also highlighted Osimhen’s strengths, noting that his physical presence, aerial ability, and pace make him well-equipped to thrive at the highest level of European football.

Currently on loan at Galatasaray, Osimhen has been in impressive form, scoring 13 goals and registering five assists in 21 league appearances this season. He has also contributed seven goals and three assists in 10 matches in the UEFA Champions League.

Despite a recent setback in the title race following a 4-1 loss to Samsunspor, the striker remains optimistic that Galatasaray will clinch the Süper Lig title when they face Antalyaspor in their next home fixture.
