The Benue State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has reaffirmed its loyalty to President Bola Tinubu and Governor Hyacinth Alia, expressing confidence in their leadership as the nation celebrates Democracy Day.
In a statement issued on Friday in Makurdi, the state APC Chairman, Benjamin Omale, said the party and people of Benue remained committed to supporting both administrations in their efforts to deliver good governance and sustainable development.
Omale noted that Democracy Day provides an opportunity to reflect on the nation’s democratic journey and the collective responsibility of citizens in safeguarding democratic values.
He called on Nigerians to uphold the principles of peace, justice, unity, and respect for the rule of law, stressing that democracy remains the most reliable system for promoting national growth and stability.
The APC chairman also pledged the party’s readiness to work with stakeholders across the country to strengthen democratic institutions and ensure that the benefits of governance reach more citizens.
According to him, Governor Alia has demonstrated purposeful leadership through policies aimed at fostering inclusiveness, strengthening state institutions, and promoting peace across Benue State.
He said the administration’s efforts have renewed hope among residents and accelerated development in various sectors, further highlighting the gains of democratic governance.
Omale further commended traditional rulers, religious leaders, security agencies, civil society groups, members of the media, public servants, elected officials, party faithful, and community leaders for their contributions to the growth of democracy and support for government programmes in the state.
He urged residents to remain supportive of ongoing efforts to build a more prosperous Benue State and a stronger Nigeria.
