Sweden delivered a resounding performance on the world stage today, cruising to a commanding 5-1 victory over Tunisia in a match highlighted by a spectacular individual display from Yasin Ayari.
The Swedish side dictated the tempo from the opening whistle, with Ayari setting the tone early by finding the back of the net in just the 7th minute. While Tunisia managed to claw one back through O. Rekik in the 43rd minute to keep the match competitive heading into the break at 2-1, Sweden’s relentless attack proved too much to handle in the second half.
Alexander Isak added to the tally in the 30th minute, while Viktor Gyökeres and Mattias Svanberg further extended the lead in the 59th and 84th minutes, respectively.
Ayari, who had already opened the scoring, capped off his stellar performance with a final flourish deep into stoppage time. His second goal of the match in the 90+6′ minute secured his brace and put an emphatic exclamation point on a dominant display for Sweden.
With this 5-1 win, Sweden signals their intent to be a formidable force in the tournament.
