The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated a high-powered reconciliation committee to resolve grievances arising from the party’s recently concluded primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The move is aimed at fostering unity within the party and addressing concerns raised by aspirants and other stakeholders who were dissatisfied with the outcome of the primary elections.

In a statement issued on Sunday by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, the committee comprises respected party elders and prominent members, including former senators Olufemi Lanlehin, Brimo Yusuf and Hosea Agboola, former state chairman Chief Akin Oke, former Head of the Civil Service of the Federation Prof. Afolabi Oladapo, former Oyo First Lady Olukemi Alao-Akala, presidential spokesman Sunday Dare, and several other party leaders.

According to the statement, the committee will be formally inaugurated later this week by the Oyo APC Chairman and former Deputy Governor, Moses Adeyemo.

The committee has been tasked with reaching out to all aspirants who purchased the party’s expression of interest and nomination forms but failed to secure tickets during the primaries. It is also expected to engage other critical stakeholders to promote reconciliation and strengthen party cohesion ahead of the 2027 polls.

Sadare said the initiative is part of the party’s broader efforts to maintain peace and unity following the completion of its candidate selection process.

“The reconciliation committee, upon its inauguration later this week, will be mandated to meet with all relevant stakeholders, including aspirants who feel dissatisfied with the outcome of the recent primaries which produced APC candidates for the next general elections,” he said.

He expressed optimism that the committee’s intervention would help unite members and position the party for success in the 2027 elections.

The development comes days after the APC’s governorship candidate, Sharafadeen Alli, officially received his nomination form from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and unveiled Adesoji Adedeji as his running mate for the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State.
