Promoted to the prestigious rank of Commissioner of Police on July 1, 2026, CP Samuel Erale has been in charge of Communications Operations at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
Erale was decorated by IGP Olatunji Disu alongside 16 other new CPs on July 21, 2026.
Prior to his promotion, he served as the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Finance and Administration (DCP F&A) for the Rivers State Police Command.
He hails from Ovbiowun, Owan West local government area of Edo State.

CP Ibrahim Gotan will take over as CP Comms Operations at Force Headquarters in a direct swap of roles arrangement.
