The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has criticised the administration of President Bola Tinubu, warning that Nigeria could face deeper challenges if the current direction of governance continues.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, made the remarks during an interview on Symfoni TV, where he accused the Federal Government of failing to adequately address the country’s economic and security challenges.

According to Abdullahi, many Nigerians are grappling with rising hardship, while businesses continue to shut down amid worsening economic conditions.

“If Nigeria continues to stand on President Tinubu’s failed mandate, this country may just collapse,” he said.

“People are suffering, but what is clear is that this government doesn’t care. Businesses are collapsing every day. I’ve met people who tell me they did nothing wrong, yet their businesses have folded.”

The ADC spokesman argued that the country’s difficulties extend beyond the rising cost of living, citing insecurity as another major concern.

He referenced the recent release of children abducted in Oyo State, noting that Governor Seyi Makinde had called for further investigation into the incident after raising concerns that the abduction may have had political undertones.

“A few days ago, we congratulated the parents and families of the children abducted from Oyo State who regained their freedom,” Abdullahi said.

“When a governor raises questions about such an incident and calls for an independent investigation, those concerns deserve serious attention.”

Abdullahi also questioned the administration’s record since assuming office, saying he had struggled to identify policies that had improved the lives of ordinary Nigerians.

He acknowledged that some supporters of the President credit him for removing the fuel subsidy but argued that the decision had worsened the country’s economic situation.

“It’s not the removal of the subsidy itself, but the consequences of that decision that have brought Nigeria to this difficult situation. The President took an impulsive decision, and Nigerians are now bearing the burden,” he said.

The ADC maintained that the Federal Government must urgently implement policies capable of addressing inflation, reviving businesses, creating jobs and improving security to restore public confidence and ease the hardship facing millions of Nigerians.
