The 2026/27 Premier League season could witness the emergence of a new generation of stars, with several teenagers and young players poised to make their mark in England’s top flight.
Among the youngsters attracting particular attention are Arsenal’s teenage sensation Max Dowman, Aston Villa forward Brian Madjo and Nigerian prospect Zadok Yohanna of Brighton and Hove Albion.
As the Premier League is about to commenced, Insightlinks Sport Arena identified one promising young player at each of the 20 Premier League clubs who could enjoy a breakthrough campaign this season.
Here are the 20 young talents to watch in the 2026/27 season:
Max Dowman – Arsenal, 16, attacking midfielder
Dowman is already regarded as one of the most exciting young talents in European football. The teenager broke several age records last season, including becoming the youngest player to feature in the Champions League and the youngest goalscorer in the Premier League.
Brian Madjo – Aston Villa, 17, striker
Madjo has quickly attracted attention since joining Villa from Metz in January. The powerful forward impressed during pre-season and scored five goals, including Villa’s equaliser against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Super Cup.
Veljko Milosavljevic – Bournemouth, 19, centre-back
The Serbian defender could be handed greater responsibility following Marcos Senesi’s departure to Tottenham Hotspur. Milosavljevic has already made seven Premier League appearances and has also featured for Serbia.
Kaye Furo – Brentford, 19, forward
Furo is highly rated after developing a reputation as a prolific scorer at youth level. The 6ft 3in forward joined Brentford from Club Brugge in January and is viewed as one of the club’s major prospects.
Zadok Yohanna – Brighton and Hove Albion, 19, forward
Nigerian youngster Yohanna joined Brighton from AIK this summer after an impressive spell in Sweden. His pace, dribbling ability and attacking flair could make him an exciting addition to Brighton’s squad.
Reggie Watson – Chelsea, 16, defensive midfielder
Watson caught the attention of Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso during pre-season. The tall midfielder has impressed with his composure on the ball and has already featured in Chelsea youth teams that won major domestic honours.
George Shepherd – Coventry City, 17, midfielder
A product of Coventry’s academy, Shepherd has impressed with his work ethic and performances. He trained with the first team last season and was included in matchday squads.
Joel Drakes-Thomas – Crystal Palace, 17, forward
Drakes-Thomas became Palace’s youngest Premier League and UEFA Conference League player last season. He also made his first senior start in the FA Cup and could take another step forward this campaign.
Harrison Armstrong – Everton, 19, midfielder
Armstrong has accumulated 16 appearances across the last two seasons and is now pushing for a more prominent role in Everton’s first team.
Jonah Kusi-Asare – Fulham, 19, forward
The 6ft 5in forward impressed for Fulham’s Under-21 side before making 10 senior appearances on loan from Bayern Munich last season. Fulham subsequently made the move permanent.
Calvin Okike – Hull City, 18, defender
Nigerian defender Okike can operate as either a left-back or centre-back. He was named Hull City’s academy player of the year for 2025/26 and also gained valuable experience during a loan spell with Hartlepool United.
Luca Fletcher – Ipswich Town, 19, forward
Fletcher came through Manchester City’s academy and spent last season on loan at Ipswich, scoring six goals in Premier League 2. His progress has attracted the attention of manager Gary O’Neil.
Alfie Cresswell – Leeds United, 19, midfielder
Cresswell captained Leeds’ Under-21 side last season and is now edging closer to regular senior-team involvement. He is the son of former Leeds player Richard Cresswell and brother of Charlie Cresswell.
Rio Ngumoha – Liverpool, 17, winger
Ngumoha made headlines with a dramatic Premier League debut winner against Newcastle United. He made 29 first-team appearances last season and has also earned his England debut.
Ryan McAidoo – Manchester City, 18, winger
McAidoo recorded five goals and seven assists in Premier League 2 last season. His performances have earned praise from Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca, and he could be given opportunities with the senior side.
JJ Gabriel – Manchester United, 15, forward
Gabriel has generated significant excitement at Old Trafford after becoming involved with the first team shortly after turning 15. He scored more than 20 goals last season and was named Under-18 Premier League Player of the Season.
Park Seung-soo – Newcastle United, 19, winger
The South Korean winger averaged 4.7 dribbles per 90 minutes in Premier League 2 last season. His direct attacking style could earn him opportunities with Newcastle’s senior team.
Kalum Thompson – Nottingham Forest, 17, winger
Thompson was named Forest’s scholar of the year following an impressive campaign. Despite his age, he featured for the Under-21s and recorded six goal involvements in Premier League 2.
Chris Rigg – Sunderland, 19, midfielder
Rigg is expected to play an important role for Sunderland as they prepare for another Premier League campaign alongside European football. He made 18 Premier League appearances last season.
Luca Williams-Barnett – Tottenham Hotspur, 17, attacking midfielder/forward
Williams-Barnett has impressed during Tottenham’s pre-season preparations. Manager Roberto De Zerbi has reportedly described the teenager as a “precious diamond” after he made his senior debut in the EFL Cup last season.
With several of the youngsters already possessing first-team experience, the 2026/27 Premier League season could be the campaign when some of these highly rated prospects make the transition from promising academy talents to established top-flight stars.
