The All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council is set to hold its inaugural meeting on Tuesday, October 20, as the ruling party steps up preparations for its campaign activities ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The meeting, scheduled for 2 pm at the council’s headquarters on Herbert Macaulay Way in Abuja’s Central Business District, is expected to bring together directors and secretaries of the council’s various directorates.

The Secretary of the council and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, announced the meeting in a notice issued on Sunday night, stating that attendance would be restricted to invited members of the 134-member campaign council.

According to the notice, the meeting will formally commence the council’s collective assignment, with members expected to consider and adopt the campaign calendar and discuss other key preparations.

A major item on the agenda is the planned flag-off of the party’s presidential campaign in Kaduna on Saturday, October 24, 2026.

The meeting comes as the APC begins coordinating its campaign structure and mobilising its political machinery ahead of the 2027 general election, in which President Bola Tinubu is expected to seek another term in office.

The adoption of a campaign calendar and preparations for the Kaduna event are expected to provide direction for the council’s activities as the party works towards organising its campaign and engaging voters across the country.
