A police officer seen in a viral video with Wahab and Raheem Okoya, sons of billionaire businessman Chief Razaq Okoya, has been detained for misconduct.
The video, which shows the duo abusing naira notes while promoting a song, led to public outrage.
The Nigeria Police Force confirmed the officer’s detention, with spokesperson Olumuyiwa Adejobi condemning the act as unethical and contrary to the force’s values.
He stated that disciplinary measures are underway to address the situation.
“The involvement of the policeman has been condemned,” Adejobi said, stressing the police’s commitment to maintaining its integrity.
The video, which shows the Okoya brothers tossing stacks of N1000 notes into the air, drew heavy criticism, with many questioning whether their father’s influence would shield them from repercussions.
