A Magistrate Court in Ogun State has sentenced singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, to three months in prison for assault, with the option of a N30,000 fine.

Portable was first arraigned in April 2023 on charges of assault and theft of musical equipment under case No. MIF/192C/2023. He had been granted bail but failed to appear in court several times, leading to his re-arrest last week.

According to the police, the incident occurred on November 18, 2022, in Okeosa, Ilogbo. Portable and others allegedly assaulted Osimosu Emmanuel Oluwafemi and stole studio gear, including a Yamaha H55 monitor and an AKG microphone.

Chief Magistrate Babajide Ilo found him guilty on two counts one month for assault (N10,000 fine option) and two months for conspiracy (N20,000 fine option).
