The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has alerted students to a fake loan portal currently circulating on the internet.

In a statement issued on Monday in Abuja, Mrs. Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, Director of Strategic Communications at NELFUND, clarified that false messages claiming President Bola Tinubu has authorized the reopening of the NELFUND Student Loan portal are misleading.

The counterfeit website involved is:
https://nelfund-student-loan-2025.po-rt-al.com/NELFUND/

NELFUND confirms that this site is fraudulent and urges the public to ignore any such communications.

The official and only NELFUND Student Loan application portal is:
https://nelf.gov.ng

Mrs. Oluwatuyi cautioned students, parents, and guardians to refrain from clicking on unverified links and never to provide personal or financial information on suspicious websites.

NELFUND remains dedicated to transparency and fairness in its loan services and will continue to communicate updates solely via its verified channels.

Suspected fraudulent messages or websites can be reported to NELFUND at:
info@nelf.gov.ng

Students may also connect with NELFUND through official social media platforms X (formerly Twitter): @nelfund, Instagram: @nelfund and Facebook & LinkedIn: Nigerian Education Loan Fund – NELFUND.
