Nigerian music icon Davido has reached a new milestone as his fourth studio album, Timeless, has been awarded a Silver certification in the United Kingdom.
The recognition, confirmed by Chart Data, marks the sale of over 100,000 units in the region, qualifying the album for a Silver plaque from the British Phonographic Industry (BPI).
Released on March 31, 2023, Timeless has been widely praised for its genre-blending sound, incorporating elements of Afrobeats, reggae, highlife, konto, dancehall, and Afropop.
The 17-track album features a roster of international collaborators including Asake, Skepta, Dexta Daps, Fave, The Cavemen, and Angélique Kidjo.
The project has enjoyed massive global success, breaking streaming records on platforms such as Spotify Nigeria, Audiomack, Boomplay, and YouTube.
Its impact extended to the awards circuit, earning Davido his first Grammy nomination for Best Global Album and a Headies nod for Song of the Year.
Two tracks from the album, “Unavailable” and “Feel,” gained individual acclaim. “Unavailable” not only received a Silver certification in the UK but also secured a Grammy nomination for Best African Song Performance. “Feel” followed closely with a nomination for Best Global Song Performance.
Following the album’s release, Davido embarked on the Timeless Tour, taking the project to international audiences across North America and Europe, with standout performances in cities like New York, Toronto, Washington D.C., and London.
