Manchester United manager Rúben Amorim has shed light on Alejandro Garnacho’s expected departure from the club, acknowledging the winger’s immense talent but admitting that things simply haven’t worked out under his leadership.
Speaking in an interview with the BBC, Amorim expressed regret over the situation but said the Argentine international appears keen to move on.
“Garnacho is a really talented boy… but sometimes things don’t work out,” Amorim stated. “You can’t always explain why. It’s clear he wants something different, with a different kind of leadership.”
Despite his potential, Garnacho has reportedly decided to leave Old Trafford this summer, with Premier League rivals Chelsea showing strong interest in the 20-year-old forward.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that while there have been no formal talks yet between Chelsea and Manchester United, Garnacho is already on the Blues’ radar.
Chelsea are also targeting Xavi Simons of RB Leipzig as part of their summer recruitment plans. Both Simons and Garnacho are said to be open to a move to Stamford Bridge.
