Chelsea secured a 2-0 victory over Fulham in a lively London derby at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The visitors thought they had taken an early lead when Josh King found the net, but VAR intervened to rule out the goal after Rodrigo Muniz was adjudged to have fouled Trevoh Chalobah in the buildup.

The Blues broke the deadlock just before halftime, with João Pedro heading home from an Enzo Fernández corner. Fernández later doubled Chelsea’s advantage in the second half, calmly slotting in a penalty awarded by VAR for a handball by Ryan Sessegnon.

Fulham manager Marco Silva expressed his displeasure with some of the officiating decisions, insisting they influenced the outcome. Despite creating opportunities, the Cottagers were unable to penetrate Chelsea’s resolute defence.

The result sees Chelsea climb to the top of the Premier League table.
