Guinness World Record holder and culinary influencer, Hilda Baci, has announced plans to cook what could be the world’s largest pot of jollof rice, using 250 bags of rice.

Baci, who gained global recognition in 2023 for the longest cooking marathon, shared the ambitious plan in a video posted to Instagram on Monday. The custom-made pot for the feat has a massive 22,619-litre capacity, and her goal is to fill it up to 75–80%.

“I’ll need about 5,278 kg of raw basmati rice to hit that target,” she explained.
“While the math says that’s 264 bags, I’ve made the executive decision to go with 250 bags.”

She also revealed the scale of ingredients needed to bring the jollof to life, including 1,583 kg of tomato paste.

“For Nigerian jollof, I’ll use 0.30 kg of tomato paste per kg of rice, which brings the total to 1,583 kg,” Baci said.

The base mix for the jollof will include a blend of tomato paste, pepper chicken paste, and jollof paste to ensure what she calls “the most delicious, largest pot of Nigerian jollof rice you’ve ever tasted.”
