The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has charged Samuel Ojeogwu, brother of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, before a court in Abuja over alleged criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, and theft.
In a statement on Friday, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, said the charges followed a petition received by the FCT Metro Area Command on October 28, 2025, against Ojeogwu and three others.
She stated, “On 28th October 2025, the FCT Metro Area Command received a petition against one Mr Samuel Ojeogwu, and three others, alleging criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, criminal intimidation, theft, and cyber-bullying.”
Adeh explained that Ojeogwu ignored multiple police invitations before being arrested in Lagos on the strength of a court-issued warrant and subsequently transferred to Abuja for further investigation.
“Upon receipt of the petition, several invitations were extended to Mr Ojeogwu by the Metro Area Command for questioning, which were not honoured. Mr Ojeogwu was arrested in Lagos on the authority of a duly issued arrest warrant from a competent court and subsequently conveyed to Abuja for further investigation,” Adeh added.
Following the completion of investigations, Ojeogwu was arraigned before a competent court in Abuja on November 6, 2025, and has since been remanded pending the fulfilment of his bail conditions.
Adeh reaffirmed the command’s commitment to professionalism, due process, and respect for the rule of law, stressing that the case was being handled in accordance with legal procedures.
The development comes amid heightened family tension involving Regina Daniels, who recently broke down in tears in a viral video, expressing frustration over her brother’s detention and her ongoing marital crisis.
Her emotional outburst followed earlier allegations of domestic violence against her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, which he denied, claiming her distress was linked to “substance abuse” and calling for her rehabilitation.
Despite the controversies, Daniels recently celebrated the reconciliation of her estranged parents, who reunited amid her family crisis and her brother’s arrest.
