Lere-Olayinka-Reacts-After-PDP-Zones-Presidency-To-South-Chairman-To-North

Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has ridiculed the ongoing national convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) holding in Ibadan, Oyo State.

In a post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday, Olayinka likened the gathering to an early start to the festive season, calling it “Dirty December in November.”

“They went to Ibadan to start Dirty December in November. When people choose to begin their own Dirty December ahead of time, you really can’t take anything they say seriously,” he wrote.

His comments came shortly after reports emerged that delegates at the convention had resolved to expel Wike, former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, PDP National Secretary Senator Samuel Anyanwu, and the party’s Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade.

Several other party officials were also listed for expulsion, including:

National Organising Secretary, Umaru Bature

Former South-South Vice Chairman, Dan Orbih

South-South Zonal Secretary, George Turner

North Central Vice Chairman and factional Acting National Chairman, Abdulrahman Mohammed

Imo State PDP Chairman, Austin Nwachukwu

Former presidential aspirant and factional Board of Trustees Chairman, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa

Abia PDP Chairman, Abraham Ammah

Olayinka dismissed the entire convention as nothing more than a “social party,” accusing delegates of being “intoxicated” and making unserious declarations.

“They gathered in Ibadan to party, enjoy themselves, and get intoxicated. They are free to say anything,” he said.

Despite multiple court orders stopping the exercise, over 3,000 delegates were reported to be attending the PDP National Convention scheduled for November 15 and 16, 2025.
