A traditional ruler in Osun State, Olokeolooru Obalufon of Okeolooru Obalufon, Oba Adebisi Mukaila Micheal has called for more collaboration between the government and the traditional institution for a prosperous 2026.

Oba Adebisi, who is the 26th Olokeolooru Obalufon, made this call on Thursday in his new year’s message obtained by InsightMedia in Osogbo.

The monarch also extended New Year greetings to President Bola Tinubu, Governor Ademola Adeleke, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Owa Akinfin of Ikifin, Oba Bamidele Samson and other monarchs, calling for stronger partnerships. This gesture highlights the importance of traditional institutions in Nigeria’s governance and development.

Oba Adebisi said, “As we enter into the new year, I want to charge the federal, state and local government to explore opportunities of partnership with the traditional rulers for prosperous New Year.

“Traditional institutions under the leadership of Ooni of Ife is ready for collaboration in terms of security, community development and others. Let’s do it together “.

In recent times, traditional rulers have played significant roles in promoting peace, unity, and progress in their communities. Governor Adeleke has acknowledged their contributions, unveiling a support package for the Osun State Council of Obas to enhance their effectiveness.

President Tinubu has also emphasized the vital role of traditional institutions in maintaining social order, resolving disputes, and preserving cultural heritage. He noted that successive governments have recognized their influence in peace-building, security, and community mobilization.

The monarch also thanked his chiefs, family and subjects, urging them to remain steadfast and focused. He called on them to always remember their roots and contribute to the development of Okeolooru Obalufon.
