Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior has delivered a major boost ahead of Saturday evening’s Premier League showdown against West Ham at Stamford Bridge, confirming that in-form attacker Cole Palmer is fit and ready to start.

The Blues head into the London derby brimming with confidence after a thrilling 3–2 comeback win over Napoli in the UEFA Champions League earlier in the week. Palmer played a decisive role in that victory, coming off the bench to provide two assists for João Pedro, and Rosenior revealed the midfielder came through the match without any fitness concerns.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference at Cobham on Friday, Rosenior said Palmer is fully available for selection.

“Cole is fine. He came through the other night with two assists and an outstanding performance,” the Chelsea boss said. “He’s available to start tomorrow, and of course we’re really pleased about that.”

Rosenior also praised Palmer’s mentality and hunger to be involved in every game, while stressing the need to carefully manage his workload.

“He wants to play every minute of every match, that’s what makes him a special talent,” he added. “But every decision we make is always in the best interest of the player.”

Beyond Palmer, Rosenior provided updates on several injured players. Romeo Lavia, Tosin Adarabioyo and Dario Essugo are all making steady progress in their recovery, though the club is taking a cautious approach with their returns.

“They’re all getting closer and progressing well,” Rosenior explained.

“Tosin was back on the pitch today doing individual rehab. Romeo is in a really good place, we just need to make sure this final stage is strong. Dario is a little further behind.”

There was also positive news regarding defender Levi Colwill, who has been sidelined since pre-season with a knee injury. Rosenior confirmed the young centre-back is back running and could feature again before the season ends, though no risks will be taken.

“He’s on the right track and in a really good place,” Rosenior said. “It’s been great to see him back out there, but his health comes first.”

Chelsea will now look to carry their European momentum into the league as they host West Ham on Saturday evening, aiming to strengthen their domestic campaign with another strong performance.
