Neymar Jr has opened up about his disappointment after being left out of Brazil’s latest national team squad, describing the decision as painful but not enough to shake his determination.
The Santos FC forward, who is still working his way back to peak form, admitted he felt both “upset” and “sad” over the omission. However, he made it clear that he remains committed to improving and earning another chance.
In a message shared by Fabrizio Romano, Neymar said he is focused on taking things one step at a time through training sessions and matches while holding on to hope.
“I’m upset and sad about not being called up, but the focus continues day after day, training after training, game after game,” he said. “We’re going to achieve our goal. There’s still one final call-up left and the dream is still alive.”
Neymar’s absence from the squad is largely linked to his recent struggles with injuries, which have kept him sidelined for long periods and affected his match fitness.
At the same time, Brazil’s coaching crew appears to be shifting towards a new direction, giving younger and in-form players more opportunities as the team prepares for upcoming competitions.
Despite the setback, Neymar’s message sends a clear signal, he’s not giving up on representing Brazil just yet.
