The Confederation of African Football has officially declared Morocco winners of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after ruling that Senegal forfeited the tournament’s final match.

The decision, announced on Tuesday night, followed a successful appeal by the Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football, which challenged an earlier disciplinary outcome.

CAF’s appeal board found that Senegal breached competition regulations during the final, leading to a reversal of the initial ruling.

In a statement, the football body confirmed that Senegal was deemed to have forfeited the match, with the result recorded as a 3–0 victory in favour of Morocco effectively handing the North African side the continental title.

The ruling also addressed other disciplinary issues linked to the game, including matters involving Moroccan player Ismaël Saibari and incidents that occurred during the encounter.

Despite these additional considerations, CAF maintained its decision on the forfeiture, sealing Morocco’s triumph as champions of the 2025 AFCON.
