As parts of its efforts towards curbing job and appointment racketeering, the Federal Character Commission has concluded plans to launch a special website for whistleblowing.

The Chairman of the Commission, Hon. Hulayat Motunrayo Omidiran made the announcement on Wednesday during of the Commission held at its headquarters in Abuja.

A statement by the Spokesperson of the Commission, Ademola Lawrence revealed that the launch of the website is part of the activities marking the third month of the Omidiran-led leadership.

“This initiative is a major step towards strengthening transparency and accountability in public service. The whistleblowing portal will enable citizens to report infractions, with prompt response time,” Hon. Omidiran was quoted saying.

According to the FCC Chairman, the new website will feature integrated digital portals designed to provide interactive and accessible information on the activities of the Commission, as well as Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

Hon. Omidiran explained that the platform will serve as a central hub for public accountability, particularly through a whistleblowing mechanism aimed at curbing job racketeering and other irregularities in recruitment and appointment processes.

“Our goal is to build a user-friendly, accessible, and responsive digital platform that empowers Nigerians with real-time information on government activities and opportunities, while reinforcing trust in public institutions,” she added.

In the meantime, the Executive Chairman inaugurated a 15-member committee to organize activities marking the Commission’s three-month anniversary, during which the official launch of the website will take place.
