Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has assured residents that his administration remains committed to delivering more developmental projects across the state, declaring that “the best is yet to come” for Lagosians.
The governor gave the assurance on Friday while marking seven years in office, highlighting his administration’s achievements since assuming leadership in 2019.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, Sanwo-Olu said his government would continue to prioritise infrastructure development, affordable housing, healthcare, education, transportation, and security.
“As we celebrate this seventh anniversary, I want to reassure Lagosians that we are not slowing down. The best is still ahead,” the governor stated.
“We will continue to work tirelessly to provide quality roads, affordable homes, reliable healthcare services, world-class education, and a safer environment where businesses and residents can thrive.”
Sanwo-Olu appreciated Lagos residents for their patience, support, and cooperation over the years, describing the administration’s journey as one driven by collective sacrifice, resilience, and progress.
According to him, the vision of building a Greater Lagos that benefits everyone has continued to guide government policies and programmes.
“Seven years ago, we began this journey with a clear vision of creating a Greater Lagos for all. Today, I sincerely thank every Lagosian for the trust, patience, and partnership shown to this administration,” he said.
The governor noted that the support of residents had contributed significantly to achievements recorded in key sectors, including transportation, healthcare, urban renewal, youth empowerment, and education reforms across the five divisions of the state.
Sanwo-Olu also acknowledged the impact of global economic challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, but maintained that his administration remained focused on implementing the THEMES+ Agenda despite the difficulties.
He further commended President Bola Tinubu for supporting Lagos State’s developmental drive through the Renewed Hope Agenda, especially in areas of infrastructure, health, education, and economic empowerment.
The governor added that his administration had recently presented its scorecard to residents through a series of ministerial press briefings held across the state.
“All our modest achievements over the years have been presented to the people of Lagos as part of our commitment to accountability and transparency,” he said.
Sanwo-Olu also appealed to residents to continue supporting government policies and programmes while urging private sector operators and development partners to strengthen collaboration with the state government on sustainable development initiatives.
He equally expressed appreciation to civil servants, traditional rulers, religious leaders, community stakeholders, and members of the All Progressives Congress for their contributions to the growth and development of Lagos State over the past seven years.
