Two articulated trucks and a private car were involved in a multiple-vehicle collision at the TREM inward Gbagada section of the Lagos Expressway on Monday, causing traffic disruption in the area.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed the incident in a traffic update posted on its official X handle, stating that emergency responders had been deployed to the scene.
According to the agency, the crash involved two cargo-laden articulated trucks and one private vehicle.
“A multiple-vehicle collision involving two articulated trucks laden with cargo and one private car has occurred at TREM inward Gbagada along the Expressway,” LASTMA said.
The agency disclosed that a tow truck had been mobilised to recover the affected vehicles from the road.
“A tow truck has been mobilized to the location, and recovery operations are currently in progress,” the statement added.
LASTMA also said its Rescue and Recovery Unit had been deployed to facilitate the prompt removal of the vehicles and ensure effective traffic management around the accident scene.
“Additionally, the LASTMA Rescue and Recovery Unit has been deployed to the scene to facilitate prompt vehicle extrication and enforce effective traffic management,” the agency stated.
Motorists were advised to drive cautiously and expect delays as emergency teams continue recovery operations at the scene.
