The governorship candidate of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) for the forthcoming Osun State governorship election, Engr. John Olufemi Adesuyi, has called on voters to reject both the ruling Accord Party and the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the election as an opportunity for the state to embrace a new direction.
Adesuyi made the call in a statement he personally signed, a copy of which was obtained in Osogbo.
He said both the Accord Party and the APC had previously had the opportunity to govern or influence the affairs of the state but failed to provide responsible leadership and sustainable development.
According to him, the August 15 governorship election should not be viewed as a contest between the two major parties but as a defining moment for the people of Osun to choose accountability, transparency and genuine development.
“Both parties have failed the people through years of poor governance and mismanagement of the state’s resources. This is not the time to recycle failed leadership. Osun people deserve a credible alternative,” Adesuyi said.
The ZLP candidate outlined his administration’s priorities if elected, including improving education and healthcare, empowering youths and women, expanding infrastructure, promoting industrialisation and agriculture, creating jobs and ensuring prudent management of public resources.
He also pledged to run an inclusive government that would encourage greater citizen participation in governance.
Adesuyi appealed to eligible voters across Osun State to participate actively in the election and cast their votes for the Zenith Labour Party.
“Every vote for ZLP is a vote for a prosperous, peaceful, and progressive Osun State,” he said.
