The All Progressives Congress youths in the South-West have commended the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, for his continued efforts to empower young people and promote economic opportunities across the region.

The APC South-West Youth Leader, Adesuyi Daramola, gave the commendation while felicitating with the monarch and the people of Ile-Ife on the 2026 Olojo Festival.

In a statement issued by the Media and Publicity Director, Office of the APC South-West Youth Leader, Remilekun Oyelowo, and made available in Ado Ekiti on Friday, Daramola described the Ooni as a father figure who has consistently demonstrated concern for the welfare and aspirations of young Nigerians.

He commended the monarch’s initiatives and investments in entrepreneurship and economic development, saying they had created opportunities for young people to improve their livelihoods and contribute to their communities.

According to Daramola, the Ooni’s commitment to youth development goes beyond empowerment programmes, as the monarch has also used his platform to promote responsible leadership and encourage political leaders to prioritise the welfare of citizens.

“The Ooni’s various initiatives and investments have supported entrepreneurship, created economic opportunities and contributed to job creation, thereby providing young Nigerians with platforms to improve their livelihoods and contribute meaningfully to society,” he said.

Daramola also described the Ooni’s advocacy for responsible governance as timely, stressing that responsive leadership and an enabling environment were necessary for sustainable development.

He noted that the Olojo Festival, one of Ile-Ife’s significant cultural celebrations, provides an opportunity to reflect on the rich heritage of the Yoruba people and values such as thanksgiving, hope, renewal and unity.

The APC youth leader urged young Nigerians to remain peaceful, productive and committed to the development of their communities, while encouraging them to take advantage of legitimate opportunities to contribute positively to society.

He also congratulated the people of Ile-Ife and Nigerians celebrating the Olojo Festival, praying for peace, prosperity and sustainable development across the country.
