The Kano State National Assembly Elections Petition Tribunal sitting in Kano on Friday nullified the election of a member of the House of Representatives from the state, Shamsudeen Dambazau .
Dambazau, a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, was declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC as the winner of February 23rd election to represent Takai/Sumaila federal constituency.
However, the Tribunal upturned INEC’s decision, and declared Hon. Idris Surajo Kanawa, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party as authentic winner
Kanawa has approached the court to seek redress as he believes he won the polls.
