Not less than fourteen passengers and the driver of a commercial eighteen-seater bus, were on Sunday evening reportedly abducted along Otan/Imesi Ile road, Osun state by gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen.
The incident happened around 5pm at Ajeoku Junction, Otanle\Imesile expressway.
The commercial bus was reportedly travelling from Osogbo to Abuja before they were waylaid following the tip off from their accomplices who were among the passengers who claimed to have also travelled but with ulterior motives.
According to an anonymous source, the kidnappers pointed guns at the bus and ordered the passengers to come out before they were whisked away to an unknown destination.
He disclosed that the driver would have escaped but the deplorable state of the road hindered him.
Osun State Coordinator of Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), Chief Aladesawe Adedeji, while speaking confirmed the the incident, saying his men and officers of Nigerian Police Force, DSS and Vigilante group are currently trailing the suspects inside the bush.
Chief Adedeji who urged people of the state and passengers to be security conscious said all the abducted victims would be rescued without being injured.
Osun State Police Command Spokesman, Folasade Odoro could not be reached as at the time of filing this report.
