The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board JAMB on Saturday suspended the use of the National Identification Number as prerequisite for the registration of the 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination UTME.

Prof Ishaq Oloyede, the JAMB Registrar revealed this in Abuja on Saturday while speaking with newsmen.

Oloyede said the move was to provide more time for candidates to get their national identification number.

Prof. Oloyede said the suspension was also to address the technical challenges experienced in some centres.

He added that the board will consider it for 2021 examination as candidates would have registered for it before then.
