The speaker of the State of Osun House of Assembly, Rt Hon Timothy Owoeye has said the official name of the state remains State of Osun and not Osun State.
Owoeye stated this today in Osogbo, the state capital during the public hearing on Amotekun Bill.
The speaker while responding to an enquiry seeking the clarification on the official name of the state said, “the matter is still in court and the house will not want to delve into an issue pending in court.
“Concerning the controversy surrounding the debate on which title is the official title between “State of Osun or Osun State”, I would like to state that the matter is still in court and the status quo which is State of Osun remains.”
