Crisis erupted at one of the branches of Guaranty Trust Bank in Osogbo yesterday when some aggrieved customers engaged in physical fights with the security Officers stationed at the in the bank premises.
The crisis which occured at GTBank opposite Osogbo Township Stadium, led to vandalization of glass on the wall.
According to eyewitness, trouble started when the customers complained of extortion from the security officers.
The customers alleged that the security men were demanding between N500 to N1000 from customers before allowing them entry into the banking hall.
It was gathered the aggrieved customers confronted the security officer, who was allegedly collecting the bribe, the officer was said to have gone violent on the customers.
It took the intervention of police officers, who whisked away the alleged officers before normalcy was restored.
When contacted, the spokesperson of Osun State Police Command, Yemisi Opalola confirmed the incident.
She said, “two suspects have been arrested and further investigation is ongoing”.
