In a bid to complement the efforts of the Osun State Government under Governor Gboyega Oyetola, the Elites Club of Aagba is set to commence a 3-day empowerment for Indigenous members of the community.
The programme, which is in line with enhancement of socio-economic development in all nooks and crannies of the State, will feature training for over 200 persons.
This programme is part of the activities marking the 2nd Biennial Convention of the Elites Club of Aagba in Boripe Local Government Area of the State.
The Club is a non-governmental, non-political and non-religious organization that is committed to the promotion of unity, socio-economic and cultural development of the town. The theme of this year’s Convention is “Engendering Economic Sustainability through Improved Agro-Allied Business Processes”.
A release by the Chairman of the Convention Planning Committee, Mr. Obafemi Okediya, stated that the training which is being done in collaboration with the One Community, One- Industry Initiative organization will cover the following areas: Coconut Oil processing (adiagbon), Black Soap making (Ose Dudu), Locust Beans processing (Iru), Snail Farming, Shea Butter production (Ori), Local mouthwash from charcoal (Eedu), Local Hand Sanitizer, Conversion of Agro-waste to wealth e.g. Igi ogede, suuku agbado, soso eyin etc.
The Training would be rounded off on Saturday 22nd May, 2021 at the Empowerment Programme to be held at the Julius Olayemi Hall, St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Aagba by 12-noon, with the Commissioner for Commerce, Industries, Cooperatives and Empowerment, Hon. (Dr.) Henry Olabode Olanipekun as the Special Guest of Honour, while the State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Adebayo Adeleke is the Chairman of the day.
