Ismail Omipidan, The Chief Press Secretary to Governor Gboyega Oyetola, has stated that the House of Representatives member representing Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo federal constituency, Bamidele Salam lied about the accusation he (Salam) made about his Principal.

Omipidan said the Ido-Osun international airport project embarked upon by the last administration is still alive and the present administration is exploring all opportunities to ensure it’s completed.

It would be recalled that Salam during the first edition of monthly parley last accused Governor Oyetola of not being open minded to ideas from the members of the opposition party in both state and national assemblies.

He said the unresponsiveness of the Governor made the state lost out opportunities to get the Ido-Osun airport project completed.

But reacting to the allegations against his boss, Omipidan described them as untrue, stating that Salam was “only being mischievous.”

He also clarified what transpired when the lawmaker requested an audience with the Governor, stating that his Principal was ready to meet him.

“Let me state here, Honourable Salam asked me to help him book an appointment with Mr Governor. When I did so, I contacted him and he said he was on his way out of Abuja. Then he never called again.

“The other time he called me, he said the house committee members on works were in the State and they would like to meet with Mr Governor. I asked him to laiase with the Commissioner for Works, Engr Remi Omowaiye and they he (Omowaiye) led them to a meeting with the Deputy Governor.

“On the issue of the airport, I can tell you that the project is still alive. Osun government under Oyetola is still pursuing it and I believe it will come to fruition.”

Reacting to the allegations by The Osun Progressives, the governor’s spokesperson wondered why the group is just talking about the party membership registration months after it was concluded, describing the allegations as baseless.
