The lawmaker representing Obokun State constituency in the Osun State House of Assembly, dewumi Adeyemi IREKANDU, has reiterated his commitment towards the welfare of the people living with disability, stating that they remain a priority for him.
The Young and energetic lawmaker stated this today when he attended a programme organised by the Joint National Association of People Living with Disability (JONAPWD), Obokun Local Government Chapter.
IREKANDU who was the father of the day at the event discussed among other things the bill he sponsored at the Assembly, the State of Osun Disability Protection Bill which when passed to law, will protect extensively the rights of the people living with disability in the State.
Responding to the statements made by the lawmaker at the event, the members of the association who could not hide their excitement commended the lawmaker, praised his different people-oriented programmes especially his support for the people living with disability.
Also speaking at the event, the chairman of JONAPWD, Obokun Local Government Chapter, Mr. Ayeni Olusola thanked the honourable for honouring their invitation.
Depicting the lawmaker as a perfect gentleman who has the interest of the masses at heart, Mr. Olusola said the impact of the lawmaker in the association is matchless.
He appreciated the good works of the lawmaker and prayed that God will continue to give him the grace to do more.
